Tarrant County College's downtown campus is situated on the east bank of the Trinity River in downtown Fort Worth. Located in the center of the campus is a long linear water feature that runs north and south through the campus created by GPSI to engage students and visitors. The head waters of the feature start at street elevation on Belknap Street. From there, a uniquely designed 60' wide cascading step effect called the Grand Steps drops approximately 20' to a wide streambed that flows through the middle of the campus to below street level. At the end of the streambed is a 20' waterfall drop to the banks of the Trinity River. The feature provides a lovely escape from the sounds of the city as students walk from class to class.
